Up until this week I have been able to view Ironworks witha 800x600 setting and didn't have to scroll sideways. Now if I don't want to scroll, and I don't, I have to use 1024x768. For people with VERY poor eyesight this is a problem. Has anyone else experienced the same thing?

Try changing your text size. If you're using IE click view and then text size. IIRC That should change it for the better.

Assuming IE,
View - Text Size - Medium.

If that doesn`t help, can you post a screen shot so we can see just how big the scroll is ??

I just ran out and bought my self thicker glasses. I need to be careful or I will start my puter on fire when the right light comes in.

But I have not found to many problems with 800X600.

This thread made me realize that I've been reading my computer screen with my face no less than 6 inches from the screen. And it's at 800x600! Don't usually have to scroll, though, unless someone posts a large picture.

ACH! I couldant stand to have my comp at anything less then 1024x768! I once tried using a computer with 640x480 and I had a migrane for days!
I dont fully understand your question antryg but I sometimes get the problem of all the writing being way too big. I fugured out that it was because I had held ctrl and used the mouse wheel at the same time; it changes the text size.

Erm...lmao...now stop that! I can think of several ways to reply to that, and all of them would get me in trouble with the moderators.

There are a number of factors that can make IW scroll. Number one at the moment is Ronn's sig - if hes still using it. Also large pictures will do it.

If its every thread, youve probably set some accesibility option that is messing things up. View->text size is a good place to start, also there are some in the control panel.

Everyone else has mentioned text size, but one option you might want to know about the font settings in your display properties window if you want to switch to 1024x768 permanently (I can't stand anything smaller, myself)

Open your display properties window (desktop -> rt click -> properties)
select "settings" tab
select "advanced"
under the "general" tab, you'll see a "font size" drop down. Selecting "large font" from the dropdown will make all of the type used by windows much easier to read in 1024x768.
