Hey all, nice little set up you got goin. Just started playing Baldurs gate 2 again and was wondering when the best time to dual class a Kensai to mage would be.

Yep, Level 9 is a great level to change over, youll get your character to a level 9 kensai/17 mage I believe.
Another idea would be to play the Kensai to level 13, then dual class. This would make out a better character in the long run, but you could only get your mage to level 14 in the game (no problem, you max out pretty early in the game anyway), but you could only use 8th or 9th level spells from scrolls. Of course if your using esperience cap off, doesn't matter does it. If you are doing it Legit, Id go with level 9/17 or level 13/14. You can be a pretty nice fighting/mage. Have him/her a dual weapon expert, and pick the 2 weapons you want to use (based on what your rest of the party will be), and your ready to roll! Maybe your be dual weaponed in longsword and katana (for celestial fury and a longsword) or katana and war hammer (for celestial fury and crom faeyr), who knows. My Fighter/mage was katana/longsword while my cleric was warhammer/mace. |

I think 16+ is required for the main stat...possibly 17. Also, the Kensai's main stats have to be at 17.

Sink points into staff before changing. There is nothing like having your mage have grandmastery with staff, and the Staff of the Magi. Watch the Liches fall!
