Is it possible to win Rolgan's trial because i've tried a few times now and I keep losing.

Yes, first go to the inn, and talk to one of the guys in there that will be at the trial. Keep buying him drinks and he will tell u how Rolgans drinks were spiked by the guard. Then talk 2 everyone else and go to the barracks and cast a cure wounds spell or potion, on the guy with the bad leg. His leg will be healed and he will tell u that the guy that got killed had a violent streak. Give this evidence at the court and he was be free. Try not to use racial information at the trial.
