Pop Quiz:

If you deposited 10 LEGOs in the anus of a trademark officer at LEGO, how many days would it take to make the LEGOs into 10 diamonds?

How lego-retentive.

I stopped buying Lego products when all they started to make was Star Wars sets and those stupid Bionicle thingies. It lost its touch.

The quality certainly isn't as good as it used to be and there isn't the opportunity of making anything you want with the pieces you get - very one-use only type stuff, which is disappointing.

But I have to agree with those who say they've never known it to be called legos, it's just lego. One lego, lots of lego. Like sheep.

They should have stayed with the concept. A universal lesson to be learned. Never ever underestimate your product and the concept that defines it. They saw a small dint in the sales curve and went into panic. Stupid. LEGO has (had!?) a fundamental appeal - you don't buy the toy, you make the toy.
I loved Technics LEGO. Had a sack full. Build replicas of space shuttles, oil rigs, you name it.

Same as. It has always been LEGO to me, no matter how much of it there was

i played with LEGOS!!!!!

either way, adobe has a similar problem. they have asked people to not use "photoshop" as a verb. "yeh i photoshopped the picture" but it's sort of a problem with the leading brand in a product. how many of us (prolly americans) call them band-aids no matter what brand they are? or call all tissues kleenex? (not me personally actually)

anyway, i don't buy legos for the kids cause i like to walk around my house bare foot.

I would call it an americanism, but isn't americanism and americanism?

By the way, why is it "math" here, but "maths" other places?

Please forgive my stereotypical American ignorance, obesity, and overall n00bishness.

(I'm actually quite skinny )

I, for one, refuse to call bandages or plasters, 'band-aids'. It frustrates the hell out of me when I go over to Canada (as I frequently do) and hear tissues being called 'kleenex' and plasters being called 'band-aids'. I don't care if its a brand name. Of course, being English, there are a lot of words that you on the American Continent use that really make my teeth grind.

Edit: Calling Maths 'Math' makes no sense at all. You study 'Mathematics' - plural, with an 's'. Calling it 'Math' sounds so wrong. If you study 'Mathematics', then, naturally, you should abbreviate it to 'Maths'. My two 'cents'.
