Some games have great soundtracks to them that will end up on my playlist. I have gone as far as buying the soundtrack cd's of games I don't even like just because of the music. There's something about the repetition in-game of a musical socre that makes it grow on you, and regardless of whether it is modern or classical, if I like it I will start to listen to it.

What games bear mention in this category? Two favourites of mine that I can think of are Icewind Dale 1 "Kuldahar" and the main theme to "Fable". Yes, Fable wasn't great but the music was almost haunting. I have it on my ipod now and it's great for chillin out .

Icewind Dale 1 is definitely one of my favorites, Spellforce has pretty good music too.

Anything from Jeremy Soule(Baldur's Gate 1&2, Icewind Dale 1&2, Elderscrolls 3&4, Guild Wars...) and Freespace 2. Symphony of Voices sounds really really good.

Yeah jeremy Soule is amazing. I love the Morrowind title too. I think Kulduhar is just like 'magic' music.

I have always liked the music from Final Fantasy 2 (US or 4 Japan). Out of all the games I have played, I can still here almost all of the soundtracks in my head--and I haven't even played the game in about 6 years! It wasn't the best quality, being a 16 bit game. But it was definitely memorable. I think one of the things I like about it is that the music is not overly complex, but the tunes are quite catchy.

There was one I had, a piano piece which I think was from FF. It was a very sad tune, my god. Really haunting. But I don't know the name of it and I think FF is mostly piano music anyway so I have no way to know which one it is.

I think I really liked the Fable music. I liked the one for Civilization 4's title screen too.

Yeah, Civ4's title is awesome too, but it's not game music, it's an actual song.
