I am wondering if the English use the expression Fig Jam though? It may be a little Antipodean perhaps.

Just do yourselves a favour, you gotta stop dwelling on a meaningless victory in a friendly footballmatch, it shows a severe lack of self esteem.

[/QUOTE]Johnny johnny johnny - you're clearly not in tune with Anglo-Antipodean sporting fixtures my son. There is no such thing as a meaningless or friendly competition when it comes our two countries competing - boasting rights are ALWAYS on the table. You should have seen the way the papers in both countries treated the result - buckets of blood on one side and bottles of beer on the other. As for the Ashes - am i bovvered

oh i do understand, we have a similar rivalry with our German neighbours, still...a win in a friendly game means nothing to me, or to anyone i know. If we beat them...good for us, if we lose, no harm done. As long as we beat them when it matters, like next year, preferably in the finals, the roof will go off the house overhere.
