I just picked up the new Joe Satriani CD, 'Is There Love In Space?' and I have to say, it's very refreshing. Much of it is standard Satriani fare, Joe doing things with a guitar that just shouldn't be possible, but there are a couple of vocal tracks on it that really stand out on it. The track "I Love the Rain" may be the downright coolest groove on the CD, with his ghost-like vocals accompaning his masterful guitar work. The instrumental track that opens the CD "Gnaaahhr" is a bombastic boogie that let's you know right off the bat that Smokin' Joe is in prime form. If you like guitar music, I urge you to check it out. You can listen to samples on his website, www.satriani.com

My favorite is "Surfing with the alien".

"Always with you, always with me" was my dance song in my wedding reception. When I first heard it years earlier, I wanted it to be my wedding song, and Amber loved it as well.

'Surfing' was great, ground breaking in so many ways. My personal fav would have to be 'The Extremist' but as far as the total package, if you haven't heard it, check out 'Live In San Francisco.' He has Stu Hamm playing with him on that and it's amazing, especially the 2 DVD set.

The man just plain rocks!!! My cousin had the pleasure of meeting the man several times and he got to jam with him as well. Taught my cousin a few useful tips.

Thanks for the link

I've met him as well. He's such a cool guy. I managed to (just) aviod the tackiness of asking for his autograph, hehehe. He was doing a guitar clinic at a guitar store here a few years back. It's kind of insane how many times I've gone to see him in concert.
