I'm thinking of this as my new party, just to give it a try:

Protagonist: Either an Elf F/M or F/M/T or a Gnome F/Ill (I want pointy weapons, so no Cleric)
Jaheira
Jan
Aerie

With either protagonist, I'll have 3 arcane spellcasters and 2 divine. Jan would easily be a good enough thief, and the whole party would have access to Stoneskin or Ironskin, making them very tough.

What do you think?

Any combination of NPC’s would ultimately make a doable party.

I once ran a party with NPC’s I hated, Aerie, Cernd, Jan and Haer’Dalis along with barbarian PC. By the time I reached ToB they were wiping the floor with just about anything they stumbled across.

My only observations on you party is you have a decided lack of a meat shield and Jan and Aerie tend to die very easily

Jaheira is a very good meat shield though. Ironskins, give her a shield and a scimitar and watch the AC skyrocket with her high dex.

The Tri-Class options aren't good if you go for a full 6 man party. You level too slow and end up being a 'filler' character in the end.

You need a meat-shield. If you want to keep the Multi-Class flavor, you might need to use multi-player mode to create multiple PCs so you can have multi-classed meat-shields. (Fighter/CLerics work wonders in this area. They can become downright deadly when given Crom Faeyr, dual wielding, and Improved Haste . Buff him up and set him loose )

Neo, what made you think this was a 6 man party?

Perhaps neo thought he was running through with 3 created characters...

I think that party sounds great. I've always wanted to do something similar. Perhaps try running through with a 3-4 man party and only having one character able for each magic type. (to me there are three magic types. Arcane and Divine with Druidic being the third, it's just the way i see it.)

I'm really tempted to do something similar, just because you have to use your party wisely. This way, say your mage gets held by hold person spell. You have no arcane spellcaster until the spell wears off. Makes you appreciate each chracter and their abilities.

My two cents anyway. Looks good though!
