This is a kind of poll and may sound tad inappropriate (no offence Memnoch or any other BG2 fans,) but which game is better made in terms of gameplay, sound, graphics and other factors? BG2 (SoA and ToB) or Diablo 2 (plus exp)?

I would have to say, D2 plays better on lower-end machines cause it doesnt take as much computing power. BG2 graphics are better than D2, D2 has more action which is why i like it . BG2 is cool because it has a more RPG aspect than Action. BG2 has better sound but D2 is pretty cool if you surround sound

D1 is better than D2. D2 is a rehash thus gets tired fairly quickly. BG2's replayability is far superior. MHO.

I'd pick the original Diablo over Baldur's Gate 1 or 2 for pure entertainment. BG2 when I feel like sitting in a chair all day and relaxing.

D2's sounds are better, but I'll take BGII for fun, any day. Hey, what'd you expect, this is the BGII forum.

I like them both, but if you have a good item in diablo, u feel much better than when you find a new one in bg, because in bg the items stay in the same place, time after time, in diablo the items are always somewhere else

And for that very reason, you dont feel any achievement at all because its all random. Its such a hit-and-miss affair. You dont really do anything to EARN the item because if its there, its there. If its not, then go kill some more unique monsters. You play the same game over and over and over again. There's no variation in how you must do anything. The only thing Diablo 1 has going for it is its environment, which is bar none the most impressive and immersive I've ever seen.

but the process of building a character is rather strategical

in DII, how you built a character does affect his power, so still feel the acheivement
