taliesan in everquest zoning is more dependent on your ram and processor i realised rather than on connection, same in quake3, i was using same connection but when i used my new pc i loaded maps in seconds compared to 20 seconds for my old comp which had less & slower memory and a much slower cpu. EQ is another game playable on a modem but disconnects and the like are very very frustrating esp as you get killed whilst ld if you were fighting

but CS on modem only servers is fine, just try and find the ones that kick lpb's

Mine is tested at 205.9 kilobits/s. Not really that fast for online gameing but good enough to download stuff and surf the net.
Not that fast? When I tested my connection it indicated 44.2 Kilobits per second.

You are correct! I run a 900mhz Atlon with 384megs of RAM.
I figure most people run with less RAM than I do. The one thing I hated about play EQ was going Link Dead during a fight! When I burned out on the game, I had died that way twice in two days! I also found that LD happened much more frequently in certain zones as opposed to others.
