OK, folks.

Memnoch's announcement has some of us thinking. Everyone is drooling with the idea of fighting the Price himslef. The question, in it's simplest term:

How can I take out Prince DemoGorgon ???

Here's what the Prince has to say:
"Do you tire of mortal life so much that you seek to end it at the hands of Prince Demogorgon?" - Demogorgon

How do YOU plan on fighting him? What are you taking with you? Who are you taking with you? What spells and weapons are you going to use?

OK, feel free to post your ideas, and strategies. These are to be with LEGIT characters and items. NO OUTSIDE KITS or ITEMS. NO CHEESE. (cntrl-q) Please respect that.

Mention the make-up of you party, stats, weapons and any other factors that you feel are important. Post as often as you'd like, but, PLEASE, no . No posting just to tell about how tough your munchkin characters are. This is a serious discussion about the strategies to fight the Prince of Demons.
get to work

LOL I like the comment about the munchkin charachters. I am making up a strategy for the demogorgon and will post it tomorrow since its too late at night right now. But I think I have a plan
Its goina be harder for Perin Lighteyes tho with him and his little bow

Don't be so sure...

I'm working on a Solo Archer strategy as well.

Ahem. That's Demogorgon, to you. It's his name.

Afraid I can't really help you with a strategy for a solo archer, RudeDawg. Maybe if you bought a coffin?

But some general comments first.

Mind protection will be crucial to protect against his gaze. He'll have massive spell capabilities and numerous party-disabling attacks. Then you need to worry about his physical attacks.

Lemme think about this.

Also, Memnoch...

What level will different classes max out at with the new exp cap? Do we have a thread on it somewhere? I searched and couldn't find one... Also, do you have his 2ed stats anywhere? (TOB is using 2ed, right?)

caleb mentioned the room that DemoGorgon is in. Do you have a link that is shareable to the info for the TOB version of DemoGorgon? It will help...

And, Memnoch, I don't know where to find a coffin big enough for him....

(can't help you w/ solo archer, other than run, shoot, hide)

this may be a bit premature since we don't know all of the new items, spells, high level abilities in tob, the new cap should allow for 40th lv chars.

but here goes ->

i have no idea what to make of the ac or hitpoints -> will go w/ the assumption that he will be difficult to hit and can take a lot of damage.

(maybe it's just the third edition stats or what but he does not look that tough, again i have no idea what he may be resistant to.)

i notice he casts as a 20th lv sorceror, his spells / effects should be dispelled easy by a 25th + mage / cleric / bard or a 13th lv inquisitor.

protection from evil may be key in keeping lesser demons away while dealing w/ demogorgan.
cavalier + holy avenger + (amulet of power or something else to prevent level drain)
someone dual-wielding mace of disruption +2 & Flail of Ages (the slow effect)
celestial fury's stun ability may also come into play,
summon creatures - any thing to keep him busy, (can skeleton warriors get any bigger)

two high level mages, piercing magic, lower resistance, malaison, followed by a barrage of damage spells.

cleric -> skeletons, mass cures, bolts of glory, as many doom spells as possible, flame strike's (from wands)heal heal heal.

Just attack him and see wat he does, then get scrolls to counter those attacks.
For a solo archer try hit and run tactics.
