Well, I was at shurugeon and I had just gone and collected the evil element from d'soto's room when I thought it might be a nice change to jump outside from his room instead of going back through the sewer complex. However, when I tried to go back through the entry hall, the door was locked and there was no way I could have gotten back to d'soto's room (not even stackman could have piled chests THAT high....).

So.....yeah...

A small sample of my stupidity for y'all to enjoy

PS: To anybody who fancys a challenge, go and see if you can stack enough crates to get to d'soto's room.

Cheers,

Moiraine Sedai

Hmmmm

Granted it has been a while but I recall leaping from D'Soto's room to the wall, walking around the whole thing and then going back into the castle the way I originally entered - flip the lever and go.

Did you have a save?

First of all the main entrance to Shurugeon Castle will open again even if one jumps out from the tower. I cannot recall whether one has to flip the lever once or twice, but one CAN enter the Castle again from the main entrance.

Secondly: Stackman HAS been able to stack that high and enter the castle from there. One can also stack a "stairway" from the castle wall to the suspension bridge between the two parts of the tower. If one has opened the gate in the tower one can stack a stairway leading to that opening.

In the situation when Stackman stacked his way to the towery heights I had made certain preparations in that I had dropped the various items of furniture situated in the tower down on the ground below and used them for stacking purposes together with the crates and chests. I still think the number of chests and crates scattered throughout the Wilderness of Ishad N'ha should be sufficient to stack one's way to the top, however. If all else fails one can always use Stackman's speciality: Petrify a lot of monsters and stack them. Some of Stackman's most spectacular exploits were thanks to a vast number of very silent, very still trolls in a heap.

Try the following:
1. Go to the closed entrance door.
2. Turn back to the door and go directly away from the door. If you'll be lucky, you will hear a sound of an opening door. The door opens.
I can confirm that the castle can be entered again after jumping from the tower. But the trigger that opens the door does not go round the entrance area so that there exist "bad paths" to the door that bypass the trigger so that the door do not open.
This can also happen in you come to the door for the first time. The door is closed originally. If you do not cross the trigger, the door remains closed and you cannot enter the castle.

Thanks again, one and all.

You've saved me from reloading. Sakhmet and Neith (my duo game characters who had the problem) are now back on their way to fry haleubus' ugly demonic butt.

Thanks again,

Alright, pictures coming up. Perhaps I will have them ready for tomorrow.

The stacking monsters trick is really a very useful way to scale immense heights. Slow but useful.
