well im a bit of a musician and i'll tell ya, after having been to New York Twice, I find the place to just be over-rated... honestly... its just a big bussle of the same old hat everyday and nothing ever slows down or sleeps in that place... I mean that is it's reputation, and indeed it is a wonderfull place, but I prefer the quiet solace of a small, and possibly needy, community out in the peacefull wilderness of nowhere...

...

I've been here too long, haven't I...

by the way, I forgot to tell you about this. A person is defined by his relationships (clever? not my idea). religion is also a relationship of some sort. Thomas Moore said there is a divine part of every human soul. so I think in christianity, it probally indicates the divinity of God, the faith. so the relationship reflects how true a christian is.

say if one abuses, he plays the abuser in the relationship with the victim. so if one's relaionship with God is a pretense one, or lack the elemant of humility (your words) then it is a flawed relationship. thus a flawed christian.

and the same thing is true with the victims. the key to healing/happiness does not lie in independence. often a person is required to be healthly dependent. if the person is surrounded by truely healthy relationships, then he is healthy. we are taught to be self sufficient, and it is praised as a virtue. it is not always true. victims need to learn to live as a connected individual, but often they go away from that road in order to realize the truth, if ever, before they come back.

so is the case with those who critisize christianity. the ones who say that a christian is weak and has to find strength in arms of Jesus. they do not understand the virtue of dependency. and often they are the most dependent ones because they deny that part of themselves. the ones that want to find comfort in the arm of another.

ultimately the solution lies in religion. thats what I comprehend. (by the way, Thomas Moore meant the modern physcological problems can find solution in religions, not just Christian. but Christian is one way to go nevertheless.)
