Help requested: Cannot figure out Auril's temple - Page 2

Sorry Magness I thought you were in the temple already,If you think that little snowfort outside is tough just wait till you get into the temple proper!!The fights are not as bad as outside(?) but the puzzles are killer!!

Well, I got into the actual temple and have cleared out the first floor. I've done most (i.e. the easy parts) of the 2nd level and have completed 3 ranks of the battle square room.

Gawd!!! That battle square challenge is tough.

I think that I'm gonna put off dealing with more of that room until I can figure out the remainder of the 2nd level. (Gain a some more XP and maybe another level.)

I did notice that there are two sets of stairs leading downstairs. Does it matter which one and do they go to different levels or just a different spot on level 2?

The set of stairs that are in the Troll pit are your best choice to get to lvl 2. The set of stairs with the painting tend not to go down a lvl unless you talk to the picture and select the correct phase. Sorry I am not sure what that is.

The set of stairs next to the talking painting is really a teleporter. There are a few "correct" phrases. The "correct" phrase depends on where you want to go.

The stairs go to a total of 8 places... each phrase resets the stairs to a different location. talking to various people and killing various critters will get you different options... there are a few rooms accessible ONLY by the stairs.

Fire damage and acid damage always get through on the golems so if you got weapons that do it, but are ineffective against the golems they are still partially effective. But, just make sure everyone is using I think bludgeoning damage against them and have at least plus 2 weapons.
