I've got the demon heart and now i'm trying to find out where to put it. I cant find the engine room. I think it may be off the room with the symbols on it but can't find the combination for the symbols anywhere. Could some one tell me if i'm going in the right direction and if im not give me a course correction.

The engine room is quite correctly down those stairs (free tip, rest before you go down there.. =) ). I didn't find the combination anywhere though. But I guessed and only took one hit. My combination was top, bottom, right, left but then I'm not sure if puzzles and such differ from game to game..

You need to go daemon hunting in the abyss to get one. Fortunately, the Planar Sphere just happened to land in the abyss, so no worries.
