Hi All,

I searched the other posts here and I still could not find an answer for the particular problem that I am having with the bronze dragon.

I've tried to pass it on the left... Doesn't work.
I've delivered Erzebette's letter... No effect.
I've ran it out of fire and can't proceed down the path... Get held back.

I can only get about a third of the way down the tunnel before the game "holds me back"

It's almost like my party is being held back by some kind of force field... I push onward, but all that I get is a effect that looks like I'm walking into a heavy wind and can't proceed any further.

Is this a quest sensitive effect? I haven't been to the stout mines yet and haven't gotten that special armour. Maybe that will help, but I still am wondering about that wierd game effect and if anyone has encountered it before, or if it's another game bug.

Thanks for any help you can give here.

Sharde

You've hit the nail on the head, Sharde. The armor is needed in order to be able to pass the firebeast.

Rumor has it that you can Vanish past the dragon as well, if you have that Moon spell. You can also follow Stackman's teachings and build a stack of stoned creatures and chests outside Dragonspire, near Torin, and climb up to the outer ledge, bypassing Dragonspire entirely.

Even so, you've taught me something new today -- I never knew that the firebeast could run out of fire.

Head for the stout mines, get yourself some dragon armor, and you'll be ready to go.

Bungleau,

Thanks once again

Now I'm in the stout mines looking for spare parts for the East rail car...

Trouble is I'm in the 3rd (lower) level of the west mine and seem to have explored everywhere to no avail...

I have noticed, however, though that there is a switch to change tracks above an elevator on the first level of the west mine. Is that what I'm looking for?

All the rooms in the lower levels just have the usual chest items.

Thanks again for your help.

Hmmm...Are you looking for the Dragon Mail Sharde? Just to give you the head's up...you gotta get Dragon's Ore first...that is dug from deep within the Mines...then get it forged by I forget what's his face...the leader in the Mines...the one with the cool hammer...

And the trolleys...yes there are specific combinations to getting to where you want to go with the switches to change tracks and the such...

BTW...Did you pick up the quest from Scanthril? It's the only way to become an assassin...Thought I'd let you know before you'd have to go back into the mines all over again to kill a certain someone...

So So,

Thank you.

Yes, I've seen the ore piles and I've tried to use a sledge hammer that I picked up to mine the ore, but the game tells me that something is needed.

Do I need a pick axe?

BTW, these spare parts... Are they on another track somewhere? I'm going back for another round here, so I might be able to figure some of this out. Thanks for your help.

Sharde

P.S. Scanthril (the Rat Guy, right?) Yeah, I got his mission to kill a certain Stout... Or is is Raskalion. I'll have to check my notes.

The spare part you're looking for is another trolley lever... it's down in one of the rooms in the mines, but I can never remember which one. You can keep searching around, or if you get stuck, you can go to Xignal's site for a little map action.

I always use a pickaxe on the ore piles. I've never tried a sledgehammer that I can think of.

And you've got the right mission in your quest logs...

Bungleau,

Thanks again

I knew the answer would be here when I got back...

Happily, I already dicovered using the pickaxe and not the sledgehammer, and using the Spirit Eye to double check for all the ore patches, I found the trolley lever, quite by accident.

BTW, Raskalion seemed to be an independent thinker... Too bad I had to "off" him.

I went back to the save just before I met him and killed him from a distance - so I wouldn't have to get to know him and feel bad about killing him. The first rule of assassination, I guess.

BTW, is there any benefit to not killing him?

Also, I was to the lava mines where I got 2 chuncks of Dragon ore...

1) Is there only two chunks? Is there more?
2) I never saw the rock beast that Freyedies warned me of... But also never had the dragon armour yet. Does that make a difference?

Thanks Again

We do aim to please around here...

There's no benefit to *not* killing Raskallion... in fact, you lose a major advancement opportunity, so there's a penalty.

There are also only two chunks of Dragon ore, but you can buy it back (or steal it back ) from Freyedies and have him make you some more armor. The Den was nicely decked out in it...

I believe the Rock Beast is the Lava Hound down in the tunnels. I've never seen any other rock beast candidate.

You're most welcome

Ahh, the Lava Hounds... I slew three of them from a distance... Thought there would be a bigger, mightier foe.

Guess not.

Sharde

BTW, My party so far is...

Aris: Warrior, Barbarian, Ninja (wanted to keep him a swordsman - I'll go Samurai with him next)

Aimee: Warrior, Paladin, Warlock (I think she'll go Samurai next too, as she is also a sword specialist and can't use it now)

Fangs: Whiskahs Wizard Level 13 (Sun specialty, may go Warlock with him, or the assassin)

Cammi: Pixie Wizard (Stone specialty, thinking also of going Samurai with her)

Psyche: Oomphaz Priest (Vine specialty, as my Paladin has lots of spirit spells - May go Warlock with him as a Monk will just have more Vine spells)

Hiss: Lizzord Rogue, Bard (Want to make him some sort of warrior next, maybe the assassin)

That's my party... Haven't named 'em as a party yet

BTW,

For anyone else who is having a problem with the Bronze Dragon, the only way I was able to pass it was by using the sixth level moon spell "Vanish" to teleport past it.

Even with dragon armour, I was still encountering the wierd "force Field" effect. Hope this helps for anyone else who is having this problem.
