I do believe that is monks...They gain the Spirit Shield that gives them a +4 when equipping robes...I might be wrong tho...
But Dang...I don't think you need that much armor on a ninja...They are quite capable of dodging attacks...well, each time I play I just put a basic ninja garb on and use my arrow keys to literally move my character back in order to dodge an enemies' attacks... [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Spirit shield is available to zenmasters, too... and without it, robes (aside from special ones, like the kimono of the dragon) are pretty much useless. Max your AC... it's the only thing between you and your opponents.
I also haven't noticed encumbrance making a big difference, so I don't worry about it.
