Sylent, you have to use HTML : tags are enclosed by "<>" instead of "[]".

Edit my post to see the syntax.

Ex. :
SYLENT (Color by name)

Or :
SYLENT (Color by RBG code)

You can find a lot of colors here

Does this answer your question ?

No, Sylent !

HTML works inside posts but not sigs.

So the only way to have a text in color in you sig is to make an image from the text (GIF, JPEG, ...).

Edit Tobbin's post, you will see that his "Sylent" text is a GIF image.

Unfortunately HTML code is switched off in your sig.

Be thankful, most UBBs don't switch on HTML in the posts, because of the potential of people embedding sound files, mpg files etc.

Sylent - Tobbin got the color to work earlier because he was using the IMG tag to display a gif that he was calling from his site.

Sorry guys! Let me know if you prove me wrong.

html or what?
last time I tried it, it seemed to come up with the actually html tags... I don't know though.
Any answers?

Ok, here is how I did it. You can use a variation on this. It's so simple, it's gonna pi** you off. What I did was to make a screen capture of your Sylent tag above. Then I cut and pasted it down to just your tag. I used bucket fill in Paint (which is where I pasted the whole image too actually) and filled it with white. Then I used Gif converter to make it a GIF and to make it transparent. Sounds like a lot of work, . . . Yes. Did I need to do all of that. NO. I could also have loaded up paint directly and then use it's text feature to type in the text (at whatever font size I wanted). At the same time that I typed the text, I could have chosen the color too. Once I did this, I save it as a BMP format (so I don't lose colors) and then use Gif Converter to make it a transparent GIF. I copied and pasted cause I thought what you had used different colors throughout the lettering. That is multiple shading on each letter. It didn't, so you can easily simulate this with paint. Yes, Moraine wins the prize. I make it look so EASY don't I? HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE. I was wondering how many would get it without editing my post. LOL So, actually, with this knowledge (and really only a couple of minutes), you can do whatever the hell you want in a signature. *Well, except maybe marquee, cause that would take a little longer).

There is one other thing to consider here as well. If you want the background to be transparent, use a GIF. If you use a JPG, it may not match where you place it and could look a bit awkward. Plus, GIF's are easier to d/l too. They don't take up as much space.
