"Check the sustain on this one ... aaaaaaaa, I mean you could go out for a bite and there'd still be aaaaaaaaa"

"Can I touch it?"
"No. It can't be played"
"Can I look at it?
"No we've seen enough of that one....."

Does it mean that it is dangerous to play sports anywhere,
or that it is dangerous to play sports in Sydney,
or that it is dangerous to play Rugby in Sydney,
or that it is dangerous to be in Sydney, just standing there and enjoying the sunny day ...

Actually, Memnoch, in American football the contact can be rather "intimate." Because of the shape of the ball, and depending on the style in which the ball is "snapped" (exchanged from center to quarterback), the contact made could get the gentlemen involved charged with "lewd and lascivious (sp?)" acts under any other circumstances.

Having played American football through high school and a little college, I can attest to this. Center is one of the few line positions I didn't play. Could not get used to those "intruding" hands. Each time the quarterback reached in there, I would "flinch" and draw a penalty during scrimmages... guess I was a mite homophobic at the time... LOL

I avoided playing centre, even in training sessions, I just didn't trust the QB, as he was often heard to say we were all his b*tches

Hmm. Good thing they don't wear shorts in gridiron then. I would hate to realize that what was touching my forearm was not actually clothing.

Always knew those ruggers were sorta gay..
No offence to anyone that plays Rugby (or American Football for that matter) but the people that do play the game for my school are so..
they just behave like a bunch of overgrown oversexed chimps. Its bloody irritating.

Sir_Tainly,

Fortunately, I never had that problem. We did, however, have a QB who thought he was the second coming of Johnny Unitas/Joe Namath/Roger Staubach and Fran Tarkenton all rolled into one. He kept saying that it didn't matter that the rest of us sucked because he was great enough to overcome our lack of ability.

Well, during one game in November, just before the playoffs, we were standing on the sideline when "someone" (possibly an inferior lineman) suggested that, since we had the game well in hand, it might be interesting to see how glamour boy managed with no one blocking for him. Someone seconded the idea and a conspiracy was born. Next offensive play, we all made "turnstile" blocks and glamour boy got kinda buried... broke his collar bone... ended his season (obviously).

We went into the playoffs with a freshman quarterback, our injured "star" saying we'd never get anywhere without him. The TEAM won our state's championship, going undefeated for the first time in school history. We repeated the feat the following year with that freshman, now a sophomore, having beaten out our "star," now a senior, for the starting QB job.

Our QB thought he was god too, but he could only throw well to the other team!
All our opponents wondered why we only ever did running plays.

Injuries we a speciality, since we played on astroturf we dished out them out wholesale to visitors. Strangely our worst injuries occured when we were away playing on grass.
