the quickest, easiest method is your "slayer change" power. using that, your rep. will drop i think 2 every time you change, and considering that you can gain reputation fairly easily (especially relative to BG I), this method is really the best reputation-moderator.

Go out and kill some beggars! Or peasants. Nobles perhaps.
Just make sure they doesn't have any names, then they may be important to the plot.

Or get an evil character like Korgan, Edwin or Vicona join your group. It'll go down. Remember that things cost less the higher your rep I think.

Why would you want to drop your reputaion? I would think a 50% discount in stores makes a high reputation worthwhile.

I never understand why people would want to lower their reputation just to keep their evil party members happy. It's a little beyond me

When I played with a Neutral Evil Necromancer, I maintained a reputation of 1. Yup... 1, prices schmises, I steal my stuff.
