There have been a few hints in the bg2 forum that yoshimo can be kept alive through various tricks, but has anyone managed to bring him to tob?
ps console cheats do not count. this is roleplaying!

I've been wondering this too. I'm currently going to try with my game that i'm playing in SoA right now. My plan, i think, will be to go to watchers keep and turn him into a statue outside someplace. That way he might be accesible in most later parts of the game(?maybe?) with a stone to flesh scroll. its all kind of cheesy to avoid a subplot such as yoshimo's, but i kinda like the guy. I'd much rather have a pure thief than a mage/theif. It will be some time before I have any results on this, maybe a week or two.

what do you think is a good idea?

peace,
dulouz.

The normal way to keep Yoshi after brynnlaw is to leave him in the CC and talk to him and take him into the party before he dies. Not easy, you should haste yourself and make sure hes near the door before you try it.

Hell still die, but if hes in your party you can resurrect him.

As for ToB, there is no reason for any problems, but he will lack the dialogues and such that make an NPC interesting. For that reason Im not going to do it.

Didn't Baldurdash fix this?

From the Baldurdash site:

Yoshimo Keep-Alive Exploit Fix: eliminates the exploit of keeping Yoshimo alive after Spellhold by leaving him in the Copper Coronet and then talking to him just after entering on return.

G'day Dulouz
tho' this is my first go of tob i planned ahead and while in bg2 stored nalia on top of watchers keep ("just wait here ect...")in case i needed an extra mage in a certain battle / quest not knowing what was to come. now i have the choice of two nalia's!

I agree about the need for a pure thief, with veronica , for healing and lorrvvve, and myself as a mage (for the first time) it should make a balanced group but to go through that bg2 and fail to "bring him back " would be devistating. SO the question remains without a fixpack, CAN I DO IT !!!? with a watertight garuantee...

g'day
Sorry this is a blatent bump, but as my team are due to come up from the underdark soon, I need to know if anyone ACTUALLY has taken yoshimo to tob rather than theory. I'd hate to waste time and XP !!!

The TS mod actually forces this to happen...

But I read that someone once ditched a character on the top of Watchers Keep in SOA and picked them up again in TOB. Perhaps that would work?

There are no scripts for Yoshimo after the Asylum, so theres nothing to cause it to not work. Problem is, theres also nothing to cause him to do anything interesting either. No romances, no banters, no nothing.

I'm not sure if the watchers keep thing would work. wouldnt he just die when you see him. thats what happened to me when i left him in the docks. not sure if it is different in watchers keep.
