*clenches fist*

Curse you conservatives, what election won't you win...

Seriously though, the fact that he's described as "conservative" by roman-catholic standards keeps my expectations rather low - more of the same "condoms are evil, mmmkay" schtick, I reckon.

So I guess homosexuals, and women will continue to be oppressed and as for the evil of aids a u-turn on the use of condoms is not expected.

Wonders how many more people will suffer of aids and other disease’s during this guys tenure :sigh:

Wellard, he was conscripted in the Hitler Youth, he showed up for ONE seminar, then got his math teacher to sign him out of it.

Thanks for the clarification Sir D, I shall edit my post.

Although they probably couldn't have picked a more conservative pope if they'd tried.

What happened to the Latin-American one as a stopgap before an African pope??

What about the Czec Cardinal? Doesn't he have blood lines to 'All Eureopean' Nations? I think he might be a little young, so maybe he will be in the running next go round?

78? Is there some rule against having a pope that's not... you know... decaying?

I'm not looking forward to a "conservative" pope. Not when John Paul was "liberal". That doesn't sit well with me at all.
