OK this is probably a really dumb question - but I want to upgrade to DSL and there are apparently some minimum requirements that must be met. I've met all of them except for one which I don't know how to find out. How do I check how much memory i have in my video card? Apparently I need a 4Mb videocard but I've checked BIOS and I've checked System Information (System Tools) in Windows and can't find it. I have an IBM Thinkpad i series. Where the @#$% is it??

Mm, there is probably a link to the manufacturer in the setup files, and you cn read the specs there, otherwise there are some 3D programs that does a performance test on your computer and you will know exactly what you have.. I will go look at some links here and get back if I can find it..

have you looked under System and videocard?? Some have the spec there..

Can't you find something about your card in the Control Panel ? Depends on your card manufacturer, but sometimes there is a configuration program there.

Nah. I already checked. The closest thing I found (among the gobbledygook that was there to a non-techo like me) was some reference to a NeoMagic Magic Media 256AV (or something). It's sort of like looking for a needle in a haystack, without knowing what the needle looks like.

Do you have a Sony Vio PC? If so, this may be what your card is:
NeoMagic Magic Media 256AV (NM2200) 128-bit graphics accelerator with 2.5 MB video memory

Is it NM2200? lemem know

Memnoch, if there is somewhere a tool allowing you to modify the settings of your video display, there should be an indication of the RAM on your card in there.

It's definitely the NeoMagic Magic Media 256AV thing, dunno about the NM2200.
Where do you look for that? Is that a driver name or something? I have an IBM ThinkPad i Series with a 366Mb Pentium II Celeron chip and 32Mb RAM.

Thanks for the help btw, are you guys starting to feel like helpdesk yet?

I'm gonna be SO upset if I can't have DSL because of this stupid video card thing.
