I'm a big Civ fan, has anyone played Civ3 yet? Is it worth buying?

I loved the first one! I played through it a couple of dozen times. I finally got two, but haven't really done more than tinkered with it.

I didn't even know 3 was out! Still it's the best strategy game I ever played against the computer.

Bah, nothing beats good old Colonization...
j/k, the Civilization series are okay, but wasn't even aware either CivIII was already released...
Or are we in Europe so unlucky again that we have to wait several months longer again?

I dont have it LoA but i want it! oh man...my buddies gonna buy it in a few weeks so...hopefully ill have it soon...
I cant wait! I've lost so many hours of my life to civ II not funny.
I've been checking the forums and some sites to see what the story is on it, how people like it an all.
Generally from what ive seen most people are pretty pumped for it and say it is an improvement on 2 in every way...a couple though say corruption in it is too brutal.
All cities on foriegn continents have big corruption problems. A couple have mentioned that some military units like spearmen or something medieval have at times bested there more modern units like tanks. I've seen that one only a few times though and dont think itll be that big a deal.

I CANT WAIT! RL is gonna suffer bad when i get my hands on it.
