This may be or may not be a touchy subject for you guys. If you guys may feel hot-headed about anything said, just cool off and dont read anymore. No flamebaiting and such as well as throwing tantrums. Pls, this is just a debate and keep an open mind to it.

So here goes.

Basically, my friend and I were arguing about which is better. I know there are pro's and cons in every form of government. Now we started talking about the subject of crime. I know that a Capitalist country would have a higher crime rate than a socialist country would have because of the undesirable side effects of economics.

my uncle said that it is an "economics of crime" or was it "crime of economics" (I cant remember which)

So suffice to say that we got into abit of arguing. He wants me to prove my point with hard evidence. I have been searching around the web to prove my point. But im also interested in hearing your views about this matter.

While the American Enterprise Institute's John Lott has shown that greater gun ownership reduces crime

I wouldn't call this article trustworthy, if they state this...

This article is a comparison between American and European crime rates, not between capitalist and socialist countries. European countries are capitalist countries too.
