Ehm, information about effects and such?

This might be a weird question, but I have a paladin lvl 3 now and there is an aura of courage active. I see this in my char record screen. How can I see what the effect does? Where does the stats this effect provides stand? In fact, how can I tell what all the special abilities of my chars do? My drow wizard has an special ability called faerie fire. Where are the specifics of that ability? I just can't seem to find it....

The paladin's aura of courage is explained on p. 59 of the manual under "Special Abilities".

The faerie fire is a spell, and works just like the faerie fire spell (see the manual's spell list).

Where the manual really falls down is by not going into any detail at all about special abilities given to cleric of different gods. That would have been very helpful.

I would like to take a moment to rant about the manual... IT SUCKS! It is the suckiest manula in the history of suckdom. It should be burned... then reconstituted and burned AGAIN! FILTHY FILTHY FILTHY! OMG! BG2 had an AWSOME manual. Ditto ToB. Did they fire everyone who made those games and then rehire people from Atari??? Spells in Alphabetical Order? WTF? Not only this but there are complete paragraphs from 2nd edition DnD RULES!!! "...Gnomes have a natural resistance to magic and can see in the dark with darkvision. They gain a bonus to intelligence, but a penalty to wisdom." <---- PARDON??? Gnomes +2 CON -2 STR NO MAGIC RESTANCE! NOT EVEN A SAVING THROW BONUS! The manual just goes on and on like that. SO LAZY!!! I have to get all my info IN game and some of that isnt reliable. Typos every where. I found a weapon with a +3 "attcl bonus" whats an attcl bonus?... Hhhhhhhhh... OK Im done... Sorry. I guess an "attacl bonus" is the same thing as a "suckiest manula".

But you're perfectly correct, the manual is awful. As for second ed rules, some of the game is still using those, most notably in the casting segments for spells, which 3rd ed doesn't do any more.

As for saving throws, Gnomes only get a +2 vs illusion spells. They have no other save bonus.
