Default Post your DIY's!!

Seeing as the holidays have now mostly past, I was wondering if anyone else made anything they consider cool enough to show off?

Mines not finished but I thought I would post a few shots of my new Microsoft Surface knock off....

Ok, so it's not a big table, its just a small coffee table with a screen in it.. But it's still a touch screen!

At the momment I'm just using random Dell laptops to run it, but I have a VGA switcher on its way so I cna have multiple inputs and outputs (my plan is to have it mimic the home theater PC and control what on the TV through it)

But so far its just been really great sitting on the lounge and using stumbleupon.

It uses a 17" screen behind a ZYTOUCH touchscreen, very senstitive and an excellent piece of gear. So its waterproof and scratch proof.

What do you think?

Cool!! I know people who'd pay $$ for that. Maybe you just created a job for yourself...

Lol, maybe your right.....

I was also thinking of doing the same thing with a 24" non-touch screen, just for novelty, but since you mentioned it, it might be worth something!

Impressive... now, I've gotta ask the important question...

Is it water/spillproof?

If it is, you *could* have a new product line there...

You'll be finding that info just under the second picture.

So... I concur. Good stuff there, Maynard!

Just out of curiosity, and this is a question I had when I first saw the Demo of the "Touch" feature Having to look straight down on the display.....I wouldnt think there would be a good comfortable position for prolonged viewing. Say for Games, Videos or research projects...I need to be looking ahead or at least some kind of angle...
