Not that I'm arguing it, mind you, but the sample group needs to be bigger than 30 before they prove ANYTHING.

There have actually been a number of studies done on this kind of thing. I'm a musician (my degree is in music). Studies have shown (please don't ask which ones--bad memory here)that kids who study music often do better in school. Some of that has been attributed to the discipline of practice, that it carries over into other areas. What's the problem as the article said is which came first the chicken or the egg. I teach piano, and I can tell you that some children start and within no time you can tell if they have any natural ability or not. Some are just born musicians and some, no matter how long they study, they may learn to play an instrument, but they will never be a musician. There are alot on intangibles that come in to play.

Isn't this true of anything. If someone is naturally good at say maths it seems reasonble to attribute this to some part of their brain developing differently. Whether or not you can effect this as you grow up is a different matter.

I believe it has also been shown that listening to music helps increase you inteligence temporarily. I'm not sure if any particular music was better.

I'd have to agree with you Melusine. Britney's writer/producer Max Martin is the genius/musician of the Britney 'Product'.

Interesting Throntar. Very very interesting.
