Yup, that's right. I just read it. Douglas Adams is a GENIUS.

For those of you not aware of what I'm talking about just from the title, I'm talking about a book with such famous characters as Arthur, Marvin, Zaphod Beeblebrox, Trillian, and Ford Prefect. I'm talking about the book about the compilation of another book, and about mice running experiments with humans. I'm talking about the number forty two.

I'm talking about The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, and I must say, it's awesome. Go for the classics, guys/gals!

And remember to take your towels!

A true classic of science fiction. It makes you laugh and it makes you think. It has detailed points to make about mans place in the universe, and also hilarious jokes about mentally disturbed robots and cows that ask you to eat them.

Ilander, have you read the Dirk Gently novels? They're also pretty good. Better than the later bits of Hitchhikers Guide in my opinion.

Ah, well Restaraunt is pretty good, as is Life the Universe and Everything, but So Long and Thanks for all the Fish and Mostly Harmless aren't as good. Adams had to write them to fulfil contractural obligations and his heart wasn't in it, or at least thats my understanding of it. My advice is to read them all, but maybe not all in one go (so to speak). Have a bit of a break and read something different between each one, otherwise by the time you get to Mostly Harmless it just won't be as funny any more.

I didnt mind the later books, but I will admit they are weak in comparison to the earlier books. But the Dirk Gently series were rather funny

If it comes to waiting around ten million more years or taking the money and running, quite frankly I could do with the exercise.
