Thanks for the advice, everyone. Steam is working well for me so far. Hope I get better in time to taste Thanksgiving! Nana's pumpkin pie... mmmm....

Howdy y'all!
The under was the winner tonight.
Cloudy, I'm going to go on being nice just so you will be nervous.
By the way, has anybody seen an escaped turkey?

Question Mark

14th post!

Gammit, I get those as well. Unfortunately, like Austin Powers I have bad teeth (my secret shame); this means when my sinuses flare up I get piercing toothaches and my jaw swells. *sigh*
So you're a science and math person, eh? That makes two of us.

Really nice snowy picture, Sazerac. I wonder if that is the only snow we'll get in this area this winter?

Attalus, Will and Carson are going to steal their gifts? Easy on the old checkbook, I have to admit.

Azred looks around to make sure no die-hard Texas fanatics are in sight. I've got a show taped that purports that the events at the Alamo didn't happen the way many people think they did. Should make for an interesting show. I'm a sucker for historical shows.

Triconan, what kind of Infinity Engine help do you seek?

I certainly hope everyone has a safe and exciting Thanksgiving with their family and friends.

Well, it's safe to say that Disney sure wasn't being historically accurate with that old John Wayne movie version. If the Mexican's wanted to get over the walls all they would have needed was a chair instead of the infamous "Ladder Attack" in the movie. I think the reason it took Santa Anna so long to take the Alamo was that his army was laughing to hard to attack.

Just thought I would pop ina dn say good night folks,
Att and Saz, you would not believe it. It used to be that Black Friday after thanks giving started the jam pack at the mauls (Saz it is a better description) but the last two weekends here has had the places so jammed you cant even park to get to the movies that are showing And of course all the shops are having anywhere from 10% to 50% mark offs on the stuff they marked up by 200% so some of the prices arent bad. I can't believe they started the shopping season so early. Any way good night, see you all in the morning.

Hey everyone! How are things? Things aren't too bad here. Still upset about the snow. Gammit, you're from Michigan, right? Do you guys have snow?

Hey Miss Cloudy, looks like I'm going to attempt another 1st page late page appearance. We'll see how that goes, however.

Today could have been called "Canada comes to Texas". Yesterday it was sunny and 72F. Today it has been overcast, windy and a high of 40F. A great day to be outside.

Antryg, Disney let John Wayne have his own way with the movie. As the star, he wouldn't do the movie unless events went as he wanted them to go. Even Disney didn't want to argue with the Duke....

MagiK, I know what you mean. 15 years ago the first official shopping day for Christmas was the day after Thanksgiving; now the first official shopping day is the day after Halloween. Slowly but surely, the shopping season crept forward; I fear that soon stores will begin setting up 2 seasonal sections--one for Halloween and one for Christmas--as soon as their Labor Day sales end. *sigh* In fact, there was one store in our mall that did have simultaneous displays for the two holidays! Ridiculous!

Speaking of Christmas...did you know that the date of December 25th was first set back in 525 by Dionysius Exiguus, a Roman theologian and mathematician?
