Well personally I have no trouble with that fight, especially if using haste at the start of the level. She falls in a timely fashion once you focus on her and ignore any summons or other enemies that exist.
And the tightening and loosening of the chains were the workings of the laboratory when D'hey Jazzerion comes in. You're past that now, no need to worry about it.
And the Finger of Death works wonders againt some bosses(Beastmaster, Izabelah etc..) but will crash the game on others, atleast in my version. The Guardian Dragon and Sherincal both crashed my game when failing a Fortitude save against either FoD or Destruction.

Another vote for Otiluke's Resiliant Sphere or "Force Bullets" (which put the target in an Otiluke's Sphere on a failed save).

Put the sorceress in an ORS, kill her allies, then wait for the ORS to expire. This is by far the easist way to take her out.

Yes, a Finger of Death (or perhaps Disintegrate) might take her out with a single spell, but both require a failed save and there's no guarantee. Hitting the Sorceress with a barrage of a cast ORS, and a couple of slingers using Force Bullets is almost guaranteed to put her into an ORS for a fairly long time. More than enough to deal with her allies.

Another point. You do not have to have your entire party run around to the boatman. Only have your fastest character do this (boots of speed, etc.). And while your speedster is running around, have your spellcasters cast some decent buffs on the remainder of the party.

Have cleric? Holy Word. While in effect, cast Mass Heal. Rinse and repeat. Have a spellcaster taht can cast enchantment magic? Malison. Then malison again. Then Wail of the Banshee, Symbol of Stunning, Power Word: Stun, Mass Dominate or anything like that. Also, Banishment does wonders here. And don't bother trying to ORS or FoD I&M, they're quite immune to that. And DO NOT concentrate your fire on them at the start! There are four support spellcasters you should do off first. I can't stress out how handy the Mass Haste comes here. With your entire party running around for the casters without getting attacked, this battle won't be much difficult. I once done it all with no character ever reaching below the green hit points. Once. Can't do it again, but I did it once, and that counts for something, right=

It helps to be well buffed. Remember that Madae is the cleric and Isair, the wizzy. It doesn't hurt to try to have an archer keep peppering her to try to disupt her spellcasting, if possible. That said, the key to the 2nd half battle is to throw all of your firepower at Isair, since he's most likely the already woundeded twin. Hit him hard and fast!
