Sorry, but I need to vent. If you work for Microsoft, I would recommend you hit the back button now on your IE.

OK, this morning all was fine until I turned my computer on. It looks like Windoze ME didn't appreciate the Windows joke in a few treads back. Anyway, I was plaged by MANY (about 15) DLL errors all affecting Kernel32 (what does Kernel do anyway?). To make my story short, I turned the damn thing off, booted in safe mode, restored my system to an earlier date and saved my work. I finally reformated my HD -which need to be done every 2-3 months to ensure that ME doesn't screw everything up-. So now, I reinstalled all my Windoze ME and it works fine.

All that to say that I really miss the stability of the old DOS 6.2 Now that was a real operating system that actually operated... and didn't need to be operated on.

Anybody else hate those new generations of Windoze?

BTW: IMHO, if you're thinking of upgrading out of Window 98, don't. 98, is by far the most stable and performant O/S in the new Windoze generation (95, 98, ME).

Ha, now I feel better.

The Kernel32 is the fial with all the windows code in it. Also Windows 2000 pro and windows XP are much more stable than ME, and 98

DOS? ,

RiscOs, now there was a real OS that was as stable as a table and easy as pie to use. And had a Graphical user interface as well.
