My Grandfather (father side) served as part of the 2nd Artillery Army Group (Anti-Aircraft Missile) in the WWII, Chinese Civil War, and Korean War.

My Dad was in military service for 2 months (?) as a reserve paratrooper!

My Smallest Uncle is still in the army having fought in the Sino-Vietname Conflict.

Lord of Alcohol...you aren't telling me you brought a LIVE MK 82 LDGP Bomb back to the EOD troopers are ya...LOL

I can see where that might get them a bit excited.
The stories I could tell you...

I went to range clearances at Nellis AFB. What fun..lol..especially when the support folks brought us some sandwiches to eat. They left them in the truck, with mayo on them. The clearance was halted for two days afterwards...you can guess why.

Wulfere ummm well yep we did. But we knew what to look/dig for it had an M901 series nosefuse and felt fairly secure. Had it been electronic we obviously would have run away lol. But this was in 1983. Nowadaya I'd leave one alone. There were a few incincidents of civilians scrapping the wrong thing.....cluster bomblets topped the list

I was stationed at Vandenberg AFB. Most of the base had been, at one time or another, used for live fire during WW2. We used to get calls for Bazooka shells
in Base Housing, Land Mines in the RV areas and 37mm AA rounds all over the place. The largest we ever found was a WW2 Torpedo. It washed up from the ocean. People just don't realise that these items are meant to explode and just because they haven't doesn't mean they won't when disturbed.
Anyway...glad that MK82 wasn't a destructor or Radar Fused.
