Monty Python is great. They are all acting so ridiculous, you spend more time on the floor than on your chair The Holy Grail is my favourite (I especially like the scenes where they use half coconuts instead of horses and the one with the killer rabbit. Marvelous!)

Yes: "You've got two empty 'alves of coconuts and you're bangin' em togevah!" Also: "For death awaits ye with nasty, big, pointy teeth!" "Run away! Run away!" ... By the way, does anyone out there know how to spell the name of the "rabbit-beast"? I'ts sounds like: keyer banoff or some such, but I don't know gaelic (or whatever he was speaking), so I'd like to know how it should be spelled (one of my sidelines in life is an obsession with language - any language - spelling, pronunciation, origin...) ------------------ "Allright! We'll call it a draw." "I'm INVINCIBLE! ... You're a LOONEY!" Dare to dream. Be bold enough to try. The day we stop learning is the day we start dying!(c) |

The Holy Grail was the greatest!!! Especially the rabbit, and the bridge... and the black knight... and "BRING OUT YE DEAD"... "Hey here ya go"... "Hey I'm not dead"... God, but that was hilarious!!! Did you all ever read the credits before and at the end of the movie?

I, too, LOVED how they always got better after some tragic thing: "Sweet Concord, you shall not have died in vain!" "Actually, I'm not quite dead, sir." "Well then, you shall not have been mortally wounded in vain!" "Um, actually, I'm feeling a lot better." OR "But you fell from the tall tower, you twit. How'd you survive?" "Well, I'll tell you..." *music starts* "Not like that! Not like that!!!" Now I shall go and attempt some daring feat in my own particular idiom! ------------------ "Allright! We'll call it a draw." I remeber being in my last year at school when the original TV shows were on. We would sit about the morning after to discuss the true meaning of the sketches and the social relevance of Python (what prats we were!) I saw them performing live on stage in the 1980's. The show ended and a sign flashed up' The End' but not a soul moved. After about 3 minutes John Cleese popped his head around the curtain and emerged carrying the dead parrot. After the dead parrot sketch we again waited, until a sign was flashed up 'Now F*** Off' Quote:

Nitpicky are we, eh, Donut?
Okay, okay. Point taken. It doesn't surprise me if I flubbed the "fields"/"fjords" thing. It's been a while since I've actually seen that one. But, truthfully, it SOUNDED like he said 'fields'. Then again - for years I thought Obi-Wan had said (upon the destruction of Alderaan) "it's as if millions of OYSTERS cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced". Cracks me up every time I think of it. I heard it wrong in the theater and then STILL heard in wrong several times after my Dad bought the movie. Of course, in 1977, I was only 8 years old - but still: millions of OYSTERS! I must be losing my mind...Oh wait! Did I ever have one of those? ------------------ "Allright! We'll call it a draw."
