I think BG1's ambushes were better, in BG2 it's ALWAYS six ambushers(Except when you find Renfeld), and it's always the same 2 or 3 different combinations of enemies that ambush you, also, healing items are more or less unused in BG2, at least, they were for me, I completed it 3 times without using any healing items, except for one of the big healing potions in the first dungeon.

DWARVES RULE ALL!

BG1 was fun, but BG2 is an improved version of it so it is more fun!

You know what I have noticed? Very few people actually play the "smaller" races, both in CRPGs and PnP, they do this even though Gnomes are superb illusionists with their high Int, dwarves perfect fighters, and halflings good thieves, there are also very few people that play humans, even though the ones that play humans are more than the ones that play the "smaller" races, almost everyone plays elves or half-elves.

I like playing humans but most people don't because..

in both CRPG and PnP humans get screwed, for example most other races can see in the dark, get bonuses to stats, can speak loads of extra languages and all can live longer than humans. But I here you cry humans can be any class, the thing is unless you are going to play a paladin, you might as well be another race for all the extra abilities.
