Some people must really hate snowballs....a while ago, overhere in Holland, a bunch of kids were having a snowballfight, when they hit a car passing by. The driver pulled over, got out of his car, and shot one of the kids...dead.

Police really do not need anymore incidents in the media but not everyone is perfect, at least no one was hurt.

Wow, that was a little over the top, especially if it was just a snowball, not like it was yellow or anything.

Why is it that every police-corruption video I see, when they ask for badge numbers, they never give them? Even in the presence of other officers.

Interesting, isn't it? They did get the detective's name (Detective Baylor) and the tag number on his vehicle. They also have him on video brandishing his gun and, later, admitting he pulled his gun because he got hit with a snowball.

If you click on the article in the link provide by Z, there is another video over 5:00 minutes in length that shows much more of the confrontation and Detective Baylor's actions.

It's hard to say for sure, but I would imagine he will be facing at least a temporary "administrative leave" pending an investigation into the incident.

In all fairness, they were throwing snowballs at cars. To me, that is dangerous/reckless behavior that could easily cause an accident. Not to say that brandishing your gun is ridiculous/overreacting, but I think they did need to cease the snow fun.

I heard them, at the end, yelling about the vehicle number, but the cop and his friend were not forthcoming when they demanded his number. Apparently, refusing to give your badge number when asked holds the same weight for an officer as assualting someone.

Yes it could. Especially with a number of kids bombarding a windshield with snow. I know, because I used to do it when I was young, not realizing the danger. I recall a man got out of his car and chased us all with an iron bar once, lol. We couldn't understand why he was so pissed. Of course, now I do. Kids will be kids I guess. But a gun? Over the top.
