I killed the dragon in the Windspear hills and got no avenger - Page 2

Sorry, but I disagree completely bonscott87, I play an Undead Hunter and I killed Firkagg before starting any of the stronghold quests so yes it is possible to kill Firkagg before joining the Order of the Radiant Heart, but not advisible as you miss out on some extra experience (if your a paladin that is)

I had trouble with the dog meat at Nalia's keep too...it was night, and the dogs were hiding in the shadows of the stone walls when I killed them. I never quite found the 4th dog meat for the umber-hulks.

Like Demus said, it should be fine getting the holy avenger before joining the Order, my cavalier did that too.
As for the missing sword, maybe you summoned Nishruus (mage spell) when you fight the dragon. If you don't have the patch installed, that usually cause some problems as the Nishruus not only drain items with charges, they also steals them (whether charged or non-charged). Like people mentioned earlier, disintegration spell also cause similar problem, but that is not a bug like the Nishruus.

Kill a monster with a disintegration spell, (sometimes) no treasure for you. Simple as that.

If a monster has something you want, do NOT disintegrate it.

For that reason, I never bother memorizing the disintegrate spell. If there's treasure to be plundered.... I mean, liberated ... I don't want it turned into its composite atoms!!!

I had to restart trhe game again. I go to the radiant heart and they dont tell me jack about killing the dragon. Is there a pattern that must be followed or what???

i only used the stinking cloud spell on the dragon and the stinking cloud wand (2 spells + 4 charges) so the weapon should have been there... sorry about this post it should be included in the other one...help me out i am going to go insane if i do this over and will not get the avenger again.....................

You don't get the paladin stronghold until after you rescue Garrin's child. You don't need to kill Firkragg before you receive the stronghold. They won't talk about any dragons until you get the stronghold

Try reinstalling the game and make sure you download the patch

SO RESCUE THE CHILD (DAUGHTER) WITHOUT KILLING THE DRAGON CORRECT????IT DOESNT MATTER THAT I VISITED THE RADIANT HEART ALREADY CORRECT????

yes, but I don't think this will cure your sword problem. Sounds like a bug.
