Importing

Hi people.
I have previously played BG II a few years ago, but not getting that far. And i'd like to play it through completely. I'm buying a BG pack which includes bg 1 and 2. SO i want to play BG I first, and i'd like to use the same characer throughout all of them. So can i import bg I chars into BG II?

I should note that, in my experience, the only characters that were carried over correctly were those who were created in BG1 after BG2 had been installed on the same computer. Examples:

Character 1
- Created in BG1
- Played through BG1
- I installed BG2
- Tried to Export/Import Character 1 into BG2--FAILURE (had to roll his stats all over again)

Character 2
- I installed BG2
- Created in BG1
- Played through BG1
- Tried to Export/Import Character 1 into BG2--SUCCESS

But, since you're installing BG1 and BG2 at the same time, you won't even have to worry about this! Aren't you lucky!

About Q'alooaith's claim that Wizards get screwed upon Importing to BG2: Your Mage Book gets stolen (in other words, you lose all your known spells), but that hardly matters, because you get them back again soon enough.

Well i got the pack today and it turned out that you only get throne of Bhall and SoA.

Look around for BG1 and ToSC. I've seen them around here for $10.00 - $12.00 American for a similar "pack" with both of them in it. I know I've seen the pack in GameStop, Babbage's and Electronics Boutique. If you contact them, you might be able to order them. That will allow you to take a character all the way through the saga.
