I liked to kill some skellies then run out of the cave again to rest and cast some spells and then go back in ..etc etc..I didn't have a problem with killing the skellies or the ghouls..but I really had some probs with the Yeti cave

edit: yes I am a noob

Welcome all! If you have an elf as a fighter in your party you could focus on sending them in. They should be immune to the effects of their paralysation (at least they are in the PnP version). Otherwise hit-and-run with your missile weapons; get one character to draw them towards the door where the rest of your party stay. That way if things get...unpleasant, you can always leg it.

BTW, what sort of spells have you got at the moment? Doesn't Protection from Evil keep them at bay?

I have 5 dwarfs (they have a high hit score) and a wizard (with an armour spell memorised). Maybe putting an elf in there may be a good idea thanks Lord Brass. I have only one spell available thats for strength. But i have a potion for intelligence. I've tried using both of them to no effect. But i will try sending on party in and then returning through the door to retrive the others. Its a way of not truly dying i suppose.

Two points.....
I've found the going-in-then-out way useful, but you can also try sending in a thief under cloak of shadows- position them where you reveal as much as you can handle and then lure them out.

Alternatively-use missile weapons and/or bows to kill the ghoul-that is the biggest problem, and once you kill it the skeletons are easy. Fight until your weakest player is close to dying and then leave to rest/cast healing spells/use healing potion.

I'd also recommend getting your mage to learn magic missile the first chance you get.

Good luck

If you are considering changing your party around a tad, a druid w/ entangle (level 1 spell) would very helpful at this point. When I get in trouble like this I typically position my party so that the enemies are forced to come at me through a small opening. That is where I have my druid cast entangle and then just pound them w/ range weapons (bows & slings). Once the druid gets to 3rd level, they can obtain spike growth which is a good combo w/ entangle. I soloed a druid thru the orc cave in the prologue in insane mode w/ only having to rest twice. Once after the fight in the middle part and then again before the final fight. Of course, when I walked out of the cave had like 4 hp. 3 entangles, 2 spike growths & 1 sunscorch wiped out the monsters in the last battle, except for a couple of orcs that got sliced w/ his scimitar.

Hey your going in and out tactic worked. I managed to get through the first four cripts and am now stuck in the fifth as i seemed to have lost the keys and can't figure out how to open the locked doors?
Does anyone have any good suggestions?

Have you actually lost the keys themselves? If so, you may have to edit them back in with Dalekeeper (if you don't have a previous save to go back to).

Which part of the crypt are you in at the moment? Have you got past the opening room with the lecturn and book? (That's the crypt you mean isn't it?)

BTW Druids are quality in this game. More so than I ever found in the PnP version. Clerics are good too, but nothing says s*d off like a high level 'Static Charge' spell!
