I finally finished of the beast in hell...must say that is was quite satisfying too! I am now starting BGI for the first time...backward I know, but I missed it before I got hooked on BGII. Though hard to leave, I really want to export my character into my next game AND just have the BGI experience. So, I will not be haunting this board for awhile. I will be hanging out at the BGI board...oh hell, I will probably drop in from time to time! HAVE FUN!!

Not at all bad. Becareful because you'll forget how weak you are.

I have done it in the same order ... I wonder how many ppl are out there who have played BG2 first and are now playing BG1 (like me)

I like it a lot, and the visuals arent that bad as I had feared ...

I am now just past a VERY hard part, the baslisk forest or sumething like that .. got petrefied every 5 seconds .. (I play solo) I then noticed that backstabbing works extremely well on them (mostly 40+ dmg killing them at once)

still when they are with 2 I have to use all my running skills to hide somehere so I can go into shadows again
But I like it .. the Magic resistance is for most opponents totally 0 so I can hit them good with my spells...

A small piece of advice. Give everybody missile weapons. You'll survive a lot more then, including higher-level creatures such as Ogres

Ah yes...........the game where one magic missile can kill you and also just one lousy arrow can end your life too. It is nice place that, Candlekeep - I wish they'd brought it back to ToB (Hopefully - DON'T SPOIL ME!)
