who do i think is the best spellcaster?

Me and my wild mage (that I will have as soon as I buy ToB)

I'm even better than Edwin. Sure, he can cast more spells, but he can't cast them like me. I will Nahal's Reckless Dweomer his arse.

Seriously though, if you're going for uber, I'd probably say a cleric/mage. They have all around more versitile abilities, and more spellcasting ability than any other class, but if you're going for fun, I'd go for the wild mage, on the off chance that I can make it rain cows.

Quoting the descripton of Nahal's Reckless Dweomer:
"The attempt usually fails, but something almost always occurs in the process."

Emphasis on "something"..

I agree with Fuzzy Animal, the druid is best! Although the mage has the strongest spells.

Sorceres's rock. i'm currently playing one now but i'm really pissed because i just learned they can only get to level 31. this is unfair. this means they only get 4 level 8 & 9 spells in their spell list. also only getting 6 spells per level per day is kinda unfair but i can deal with it. but only 5 memorised spells per level is just... unfair. Heh.
just my two cent's (or in my case penny's) :S

I agree with you Bruce. Most of the spells are either useless, or can be subed with another spell. I can handle only having 5 spells in my book, but the only thing keeping me from playing a sorcerer is that I can't be a wild sorcerer (at least not without cheating). If there was a legit mix of the two (perhaps giving the extra spell per level as well), that's what I would be and nothing else.

My character is a Mage/Mage cause they can learn all the mage spells.. (So they are fit for adventuring alone or maybe not..)

I've always used a specialist mage whenever i've started a seroius game. The specialist mages, or mages of any kind, just kick any other classes but. I mean, after a certain point, the mage can tackle pretty well anything thrown at it.

I hate those... the only way to avoid it is by Magic Resistance.

Hmmmm... ...

Sorcerer would be my first choice,
then Necromancer,
then Wild Mage.

Heh heh, now that I am finally starting to use Time Stop regularly, I am itching to play a Sorcerer and try it out.

For those who want to go to level 40 in their Mage or Sorcerer class, you can try the Xp cap remover from the following URL.

http://members.home.net/mrkevvy/ToB/...andcheats.html

Be warned though... this will affect Multi-classed and Dual-classed characters too. I am not using it, despite the temptation of maxing out my level 8 and 9 spells.

If not a Sorcerer casting total oblivion, then a Cavalier meting out justice. Otherwise, I think I will just be a Blade and torture my enemies with, "My Heart Will Go On".
