Just heard that Wembley Stadium WILL NOT be rebuilt. Fu***ng sacrilege. I can't believe it.

I agree Charlie, why on Earth did they waste all that money on the bloody dome! What a waste, especially as it was a temporary structure. You would have thought they could have built a stadium for the milleniun which they could have converted to a football ground later!

I dunno, maybe years of self abuse have made me more cynical than may have otherwise been the case. I just can't help thinking that this (and the dome fiasco) was always part of the bigger picture. Wembley would never, COULD NEVER have been touched had the people been told its demise was permanent. The twin towers (wembley) are in a prime location in London. Football finals and internationals will never be the same again. Wembley was known to football fans the world over. Christ, I've seen interviews with Swedes, Danes, Germans you name it, all aspired to play there.

Absynthe, Yanks aren't clueless buddy, politicians on the other hand....
