As you might know, I bought DD Friday! I just HAD to see what was so good about it! . Looks great so far!

PS: If you want a DD Forum, send me the requests!! See, if there isn't a lot of people wanting it, there is really no use for one. But... Tell your friends, and spread the word--even at the official forums! If I get a good bunch of emails, I'll make the DD Forum a reality!

PS: I only paid $39.99 for it. Is that what you folks paid? I wish MORE games were that price..

Email me at webmaster@tgeweb.com with DD plugs!

You heard the man people, start spamming lmao ! No but send Z an email. $39,99? That is cheap nowadays. Unfortunately I beat your price since I only paid about $8. We Canadians can´t count and we don´t know the treu value of computer games it seems And Bungleau, try the bow out! Just hold down ctrl and punch that mouse button and your enemies will die rather quickly . And any character can steal from shops/houses. Just wait until the owner steps outside for a moment and take whatever you want

Well, folks, it appears Ziroc may be hooked. He's led me to believe that after the switch to the new URL, a DD forum will be in the offing. But don't let that stop you from keeping the cards and letters coming, people. The more he knows about who's hooked, the better.

And speaking of hooked, has anyone come across the cross-dressing farmer yet? Wasn't quite sure how to react when I spoke with him and his wife. Also, does anyone have a clue on either mixing potions, or what some of the things like elixirs do? And third and finally, does anyone know what the rest of the side effects are to letting yourself get bit by a vampire? I don't seem to see any downside (like Lysandra wanted to give me), aside from some reduced stats, but I'm not quite sure yet...

Well, back to the battles for Studley Dinsmore. He's around level 12 or so, but doesn't have that fat purse or nice equipment. I've got to start using his attribute points better, for sure.... save early, save often, save before, save after has saved me more than once.

Bungleau...

1.) I thought I remembered the farmer... ...But, when I went back to visit...I couldn't find him/her...Either it was fix when I installed 'Hotfix.2'...or ...I'm looking in the wrong place....I did find, a Barking Cat(!?!?)...it was chasing a chicken. Where was the farmer????

2.) G'Winelle...hasn't developed any Alchemy skills...So she can't seem to mix any potions...I'm sure by now...You've figured out. that Elixir....Boosts your resistences....(some of the foods, stilll have me confused....I still can't see any benifit from tomatoes!?!?)

3.) The only side affect..to being bitten...is the reduction of stats...and it's neccessary...In order to do the 'Save the Boy' quest and get the 'Kill the Vampire' quest.

Sorry it took soo long to answer...I finally got a break in the action...G'winelle (level 27.5) has just finshed Everything in the first map...except 'Stormfist castle'....(I've done it twice...I don't know if I like losing my teleporter stones...Even if it is temp)

Now I have to decide whether to do the castle..or...start the dark forest..or..Verdistis.

** a couple of tips...(hope they're not to late)
When you buy the 'key' from Blake...make sure you use it on the 'Nericon Gardens'...not the 'Graveyard'. I made that mistake and needed level 5 lockpick to open the garden gate.

Also...there is an entrance to the sewers, in the middle of the merchants square...(I almost missed it...I was looking for a central area..to stash booty and stumbled on it... )
... ...Beware the bad boy in the NW corner, of the sewers!!!!! He's very tough!!!

Packrat,

I haven't installed hotfix 2 yet, so the farmer is still there, AFAIK. He's in a house along the northeastern reaches, just south of Necricon, IIRC. Look for a house with two people in it close to each other. Apparently his wife supports his... interests...

Alchemy really stinks, AFAICT. At level one, you can only combine existing potions. Apparently, you have to be level two to actually create them. I haven't been willing to spend that second skill point on it yet. I haven't tried elixir yet, nor restoration. Just healing and magic for me, thanks. And the occasional strength potion, too.

I did have a bummer! Something (perhaps when I picked up the "something weird" axe) dropped my agility by a point. That dropped me to 29, which meant that I couldn't use the bow I had. I do like bows -- allows me to take advantage of "they will hunt you down" and "run away! run away!" by shooting until they get close, running a few steps, and repeating.

I have also cast the reverse time spell quite often. The lizard mage in the sewers in merchant square toasted me the first seven times, as did the liches in the haunted abbey. BTW, any idea where the other key for the haunted abbey basement is? I found one, but it didn't open it up.

Also, Blake won't sell me the key yet. Any idea how high my reputation has to be before he'll consider it?

And as for the vampire, I first challenged him. He killed the boy and came after me. *sigh* reverse time... okay, on to being the sacrificial lamb.

Got my first sword of frost (bought it from Geoff in the merchant's square), and I see what folks mean about it making the game easier. Combat is much more pleasant now...

Ah, well. Back to the fun.

LOL...I finally Talked to Hugh Dellabaere about his clothes....I always passed on the topic and talked to his wife...What a hoot!!! Good thing they won't have to move to Rivertown. ..I don't think he'ld have as much freedom, there.

Elixirs give a temp boost to All resistances (no max limit)....+10 for minor Elixir...+15 for Elixir...+20 for super. I don't know exactly how long they last...but it is a good amount of time.

If the ax, you mentioned, was in the Abbey...was it the 'Halbred of the Rock'??
It's the only weapon I've seen...that had a tag that says "there's something strange about this weapon". It must weigh a ton!!! When you pick it up...your stamina starts to nose dive....but it didn't take away any skill points....maybe you swaped out an item that had an agility bonus...or something broke...or you lost it with the Vampire...
The two doors in the abbey cellar, are opened by switches. Both swithces are in the southern rooms...one switch is immediately to the left of the door it opens. The other (which opens the 'Engineers' room) is in the Southern most room...in the middle of the north wall. The 'Key' fits one of the locked chests in the Engineers room...I couldn't find another key, So I had to pick the other chest....BTW...If you haven't met the Engineer yet...Bring an extra 1,000 GP!!!!! or you might not like it.

I don't know what level my rep was, when a bought the key, from Blake. All I remember is ...at one point there were 3 topics instead of the usual 2. and that topic lead to the key.

I got my first sword...thanks to mutiple reverse time spells...There were 2 locked chest on a grass trail....Somewhere between Gen. Mitox and the Dwarvin Bread inn. The first time I found them...I got a real nice Breast plate...I put it on and started to strut down the path. I walked a bit further and got creamed by a band of orcs...of course I forgot to save...So I spent the next 40 min...trying to re-roll the breast plate. I stopped when I rolled a 'really nice' one handed sword:

Bull's Basterd Sword of Poison
Durability 24
Damage 27-65
+2 constitution
+16 Vitality
+25 to chance to hit
Recuperation 15...(with level 5 sword...it's 0)
Poison (2)
Life Drain (4)
(too bad it can't be charmed)
Now when she gets in trouble...she gets in the middle of the crowd a spins a couple times and ...Presto...More health....Ahhh the glories of battle...

BTW...did you finish the sewers???? Did you meet 'The Executioner'?? Did you find, the one way door back to the square???? or the Sewer entance to Verdistis??? Or the short cut, back to Larins house (the poor section)??

We're talking about Divine Divinity, LiOnHe@rT. It's another CRPG that's gotten a couple of us hooked, and until Ziroc decides to open a DD forum (which he's contemplating, once the switch is complete), we're discussing it in here. In this thread, actually, which I've been doing to avoid clutter on the WW forum. Wouldn't do to have 14 posts about DD on the first page now, would it?

DD is what started this whole thread, and the downloadable demo (which is completely incompatible with the real game, since it's an early release) got me hooked. Packrat and I are discussing some of the things we've come across in the game.

And Packrat, I met the engineer. Fortunately I've been a little bit obsessive about gold, preferring to barter for gold plus items whenever possible, so I was carrying enough. Haven't finished the sewers yet; the first orcish mage gave me fits, although I finally felled him. Got to get my sword to five and my agility up, I think. It's amazing how many times I can swing at a frozen enemy and still not hit him... Haven't finished the sewers, so I haven't found the executioner or any of the other critters you mentioned.

Have you followed the magic carpet guy's dialogue to the end? I think I got some kind of merchant bonus, although Traders Tongue is still at level one. Perhaps I should have dialogued with him first... I'll remember that for another game.

I'm in the process of going back to the southern edges. I hadn't visited Malix yet, so I delivered the message and am working on the orcish stuff in the south. Kind of nice when three strikes takes out an Orc Warrior, crossbowman, heavy warrior, or elite guard. About the only one I have trouble with is the really big one (heavy elite dark guard, or whatever he is). Him, I've got to hit lots of times, occasionally repairing my sword mid-fight.

Just got my agility up so I can use a nice bow that I found (forget the name, but damage is 65-171 or thereabouts). And then I went too quickly last night and got surrounded by orcs. They nailed me in short order (man, I hate those war drummers!). I decided to save the reverse time spell for tonight.
