I found this cool program (which is freeware!!), that lets you back up cd's (as they degrade over time) by converting them into ISO format (virtual drives). I wanted to back up my Bg2 (as it has 5 cds) and now they are all in ISO form stored in my hard drive and better yet, stored in a single DVD now.
I only used to be able to view them using Daemon Tool but it only has emulator for virtual drive and no conversion. Now you can back up them up yourself. I have tried it and it works great! just sharing http://www.magiciso.com/index.htm --------------- Features include: Quote:

*buries her head in her hands*
sorry, but that's all geek to me. i need a program that allows me to put my cd into the cd drive and a blank dvd in my dvd drive. then all i need to do is push a button and *VOILA* it's done for me? and.. and... and... if it's a multiple cd set (like baldur's gate 1 with tosc), it pops out cd1 and asks you for cd2, etc. now that would be great! will someone get on that? now? pleeeease? V***V

By the program making it ISO, any file handler,(program that can move files) can manage the file. It can be stored on a HDD,

Like I said earlier, I have used my BG2 cd's so much (although they are in perfect condition) I always wonder what will happen if one disc gets damaged.. I would be in total misery. note: my bg2 disc is more than 5 years old now (lost count)! I have been using it as old as this forum was still in the blue boards! Sooo.. for my example in making a spare replacement disc into one dvd, convert each cd into an ISO into your hard drive first and segregating them into each folder and once you have all discs, use Nero or anything similar and put them into one disc. Of course the only thing different about this is that you will need a program to keep reading your ISO for you as there is no full sure way to lump all cd's into one dvd by keeping the contents untouched. As for popping out and asking for cd's in Bg1, there is an option to change disc of your virtual drives. Hope this will help

MagicISO has been around a long time, and it's faultless.
Especially when used in conjunction with DT, eliminates the need for the CD/DVD. You only need them once! But, MI and DT are probably the two most commonly used tools of software pirates. Good programs though! I use both regularly.
