Ok...So i have problems with my CD drive
any tech wizzies here tell me how to fix it?
heres the problems:
when i try to install anything, or play anything that requires a cd i of course do what any normal person does and put the cd in the drive, press the button to close it...and then try to play/install whatever i wanted, heres where the problem comes...it doesnt know it has a cd in the drive?....So i gota repeat the previous steps about 6 times on average for it to notice...how do i stop that?
also...no matter how clean my cd is (even new cds right out of a package have the problem) the CD drive often has trouble reading the CD quickly.
now i have had these problems since one or two months into owning this drive (which i bought from best buy) and so after almost a year of it im quite sick of the problems; some info on what the drive is:
KENWOOD TRUE-X powered by zen (tm)
i know not how to find out more info on it as im a computer illiterate

This happens frequently when the drive is a bit older and the media being inserted is a CD-RW or CD-R that has too low a reflectivity. I have had to upgrade both my systems in the last year due to changes in the media. The worst thing is that some game developers are starting to use cheeper media which really are the worst for this kind of thing....anyway...this might be your problem. (also try cleaning the media before inserting.)

I ran into this same problem about a year ago and it just kept getting worse and worse. I finally ended up having to get a new cd drive.
