I had already posted the story [img]tongue.gif[/img] but could not get the pic nice one [img]tongue.gif[/img] as for what it is, here is some of our thoughts on it

Ahh. Did not realise, sorry.
Some funny thoughts, but, there was only one serious response though. Ziroc is probly right about it being the after-effect from the explosion of the satelite, but know one is sure.
I will be watching it closely also. [img]smile.gif[/img]

That spot is at least the size of Earth if Im remembering the size of Jupiter correctly. My guess is its a freak windstorm, which is hardly unusual on Jupiter. Or it could be a collision impact, but it would have to be something a bit more energetic than an old probe. Cometary fragment or one of the trojan asteroids or something.

The population of that part of Jupiter just reached into the industrial age and therefore started polluting…
Well seriously my guess would be something like; the spot is an enormous cloud with a very high density, like you know from earth (they cause rain), so it is a cloud on the verge(sp?) of going from gaseous form to liquid form. Caused by a slight change in temperature or pressure…
Just a guess I got no evidence what so ever [img]smile.gif[/img] But in my head it sounds reasonable...
