Well, I need help... with Chapter II [ IWD II ]

Basically, this is the short version: I've cleared the first map, the ice wall, and both levels of the Ice temple.

All I have to do is destroy the alter-demon thing, and I can proceed with the game. Well, problem is, I can't get into the room... because I broke the prism machine.

After clearing every single room except two, the room with the shadow, and the alter room, I was stumped. So I went back to the 'magical' staircase, spoke a few words, and was transported to the shadow-trap room- one of the unexplored rooms out of two. Well, I foigured out what I need to do. I already rotated the mirrors and everything. But I previously, as I said, broke the Prism lightning-machine. When I try to use it it says (paraphrasing) "You think you broke something critical. You are compelled to find a way to fix it.

Is there a way to fix it? I figure if I can do that, I can proceed! Huzzah!

If it's any help, I already took "advice" from neker-something, and when I ask him about hte favor, he says, "Not yet, but soon."

IIRC I think there are some parts around for fixing the machine in the library next to the prism room,but it has been a long time since I played it so I might be wrong.

If that dosen't work try the three mode levers in the battle squares room.

The first level activates the mode. The other two levers determine which mode you are in. Mode 1 -temple maintenance Mode 2- make you etherial Mode 3- battle squares game.

I believe Temple Maintenance does some sort of auto-repair function....

There are 3 ways of repairing

_Use the maintanace mode as suggested above.
_Repair yourself if you have high enough use magic device skill (it advances game time by 24 hours or so...)
_Ask the mage (darn forgot his name) to repair it to you as a favor. This is worst method of all because you waste your favor instead of asking for something much better. And using the first method you can repair it for free anyway.

Consider yourself lucky in Chapter 2, if fixing the machine was your biggest challenge.

Mine was having the sacrificial priestess (forget the name, Ilyssara?) bugging on her suicide speech and having over a thousand HP, while I was soloing the game using a drow mage. That was a LONG fight!
