Isn't there a monk/thief dude who is supposed to help u get past the Iron Golems gaurding the pedastal in the Black Raven Tomb under the monestary?? I can't kill the things and I HOPE there is a way to pilfer the gear on the pedastal without awakening the Iron Golems. Any tips on spells or anything that kill them I'd love them.

YOU need a large blunt weapon like a +2 hammer to kill Golems or a bunch of blunt weapons at the same time and they die fast

Ah, c'mon. This one was easy. Explore the entire area. Clear out all the non-Iron Golum enemies. Find the exit. Cast a haste on your theif. Make certain that yoru theif has some empty slots 3-5 is enough, IIRC. Send the theif running back to the chest. Open the chest. Take the booty. Theif runs like heck for the exit where the rest of your party is waiting. See ya later, iron golums.

If you want to try to beat up 4 iron golums, you're on your own.

The thief is on the first level of the monastery, just talk to all of them until you find him. He is in the storeroom.

Not sure if it works in IWD2, but there is always the little lv cleric spell called "Sanctuary" which is overlooked.

why? Unless you attack someone, "sanctuary" is supposed to make all ignore you.

Things don't always work as "supposed to" in computer games

However, one could always try improved invis on the rogue.

Or, the cleric could grab the stuff and then do a sanctuary.

Or, you could cheat by having the party at the exit except for one, grab the stuff, jump the person to the party, and leave.

You could even - dare I say it? - not take the items at all.

+3 weapons man! I had an archer run away and fire a +3 arrow whenever given the chance, and it worked great (he had 'Dash')! Takes a long time, but it's worth it (when else are you going to use the uber arrows?).

Surfing the archives, are we?

Any type of Ftr/Wiz combo (also including Pal/Sorc) can do fairly well in this fight because of Mirror Image - a fully buffed monk can avoid a fair number of hits as well. There's also a protection from poison spell around (available from Nym, iirc) which helps against the cloudkills. If you have a high Str tank to attack from behind your damage soak, that's even better.

The best place to set up the fight is on the narrow path leading to the exit. Four iron golems pounding away is too much, so you need to use the terrain to your advantage.

If you can summon earth elementals, they do good damage against golems. A zombie (lord?) has high resistance to bludgeoning damage and is immune to poison, so it also makes a good meatshield.

The real difficulty at this stage is the lack of +3 or better blunt weapons. Sometimes I go through the Underdark before doing this fight because you can buy what you need from the merchants if you haven't found anything.
