A handy tip to those that find the use of random number table awkward with the pen method.

Buy yourself two 10-sided die, differently coloured, and use that to roll for the horizontal place and vertical place.

I'm going to enjoy this methinks. Thanks Degrader I was needing something to keep me from bad habits. And this looks like it'll do nicely.

I was a bit silly with the other post! You can instead just roll a ten-sided die, because all of the ten numbers are represented equally.

As an aside, how do you guys deal with death? Do you start over? Do you flip back to the last page?

It depends how generous you're feeling to yourself. (But really you should restart).

I've only ever played one other such game (Ian Livingstone, City of Thieves) but that was waaaay back when. The problem i had with that game (unlike crpg) is that you could die pretty easily without any warning and in the end it got too frustrating to play according to the rules. Think i'll play it properly for as long as i can this time.

Also, anyone got any ideas on how i can print the combat results tables so that each one appears on a seperate sheet?

Try copying them to your harddisk seperately and then print them.
