In my opinion(I feel it is damn near fact) Ravager+6 is by far the best weapon. Sarevok has it in my party with 5 slots filled and he is nearly invincible. When I get into new areas I just send him and a planetar in to clear it out and it hasn't failed yet. Oh by the way I beat the game so that should tell you something.

Ravager is good. Another good one is the Axe of the Unyielding, it's a vorpal weapon too and can be dual-wielded with Crom Faeyr to get the 25 str to hit and damage bonueses.

Axe of the Unyielding +5 is great, maybe the best. Crom Fayer is of course good, and so is The Answerer. And Holy Avenger gets a shot at best weapon, of course.

The staff of the ram +6:
1D6+12 + 1D4 piercing damage gives a potential 22 damage before weapon proficiencies and strength has been taken into consideration

Grand Mastery in staff's gives a further +3 to damage

Slots spent in two handed weapon style gives +1 damage

Gauntlets of weapon expertise or extrodainry specialisation gives +2

Girdle of fire giant strength gives an additional +10 damage too.

This means this quarter staff can dish out a potential 38 damage. You can add 8-10 damage to this if your main char is a kensai, making this the most damaging weapon in the game (excluding poison effects from weapons such as the raveger, this is raw weapon damage and not chance damage)

Depends Openent:
The Answerer is a MUST against boss battles.

On every hit the unit looses 2AC and 15% Magical Reistance for 4 rounds.
This allowed my fighter/mage to melee and spell attack with the dragon.

C'mon guys ONE weapon or piece of armor. No combos for dual wielder's there are plenty of those in the forums already. Note the topic says SINGLE best. And if your going to say the topic also says weapon. You can consider armor as a weapon too since defence can be a good offence.

Personally I like the Crom Faeyer. It can turn even a weakling into a very powerful fighter. Besides it kills some golems, and trolls in a single hit. Who likes Clay and Stone Golems? Who likes any type of troll? Nobody!
